Keeping analog technologies alive is the speciality of Austrian entrepreneur Florian “Doc” Kaps – best known for his success in keeping the very last Polaroid film production facility based in Enschede, The Netherlands up and running, resulting in the comeback of instant film to the market.

Before dedicating himself to saving analog technologies from extinction, he was a dedicated biology student, discovering the miracles of the 7-eyes-system of a certain spider, which then led him to developing night vision machines for The Lomographic Society, where he also built the company’s international online platforms and communities.

At his current venture SUPERSENSE – an all analog manufactory/studio/shop/cafe based in Vienna – he is also constantly building a network of analog mavericks, makers, dreamers and doers who preserve analog technologies, carefully merge them with the present and  convey them into the future.

Amongst others, the SUPERSENSE team is doing just that by saving the legendary type 100 packfilm format, hand-crafting ONE INSTANT, a next generation peel-apart film based on a new concept at their small film manufactory.
Last but not least Doc is also founding partner of PHONOCUT, a revolutionary project with the ambitious aim to introduce new innovative approach to the production of small to medium sized record editions of highest quality.
