Kaneshii Vinyl Press located in Prince Edwards Island, Canada started limited production in June 2017 with their new press from Viryl Technologies. Kaneshii is led by Ghana immigrant, Gideon Banahene who plans to transform the Canadian province into an island record dynasty.
Banahene and his business partner Ghislaine Cormier obtained financial support of approximately $175,000 from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and in addition to start up money from the PEI government. The money received provided them with enough resources to move into a 3000 sq.ft building in Charlottetown industrial Park and purchase the equipment needed to start pressing vinyl.
Kaneshhii is close to running at full capacity and has plans to hire more employees and purchasing more equipment soon.
