Making Vinyl – The Premier Vinyl Record Industry Conference

Haarlem, Netherlands / Orlando, FL – September 2025 – Vinyl is more than a format. It is a craft, a culture, and a business that continues to shape how music is made, shared, and experienced. From September 24–26, 2025, PHIL Haarlem becomes the hub where record pressing plants, labels, engineers, designers, distributors, suppliers, journalists, and record lovers converge for Making Vinyl Europe 2025, the most extensive edition yet.

“As the world changes rapidly around us, we stand at a crossroads where tradition meets innovation, where craftsmanship meets technology, and where our responsibility to the planet meets our passion for music,” says Andreas Kohl, Conference Director. “This conference is about more than sharing expertise – it’s about forging the connections that will carry vinyl forward for generations to come.”

Building on that vision, Making Vinyl Europe is about tackling the real issues facing the record industry – from supply chain bottlenecks and rising costs to sustainability and quality standards. How do we secure the future of vinyl production? How can the industry stay resilient while demand keeps growing? And how can the many players across Europe and beyond expand a network that encourages collaboration, shared learning, and collective growth?

Program & Speaker Landscape
This year’s program brings renewed energy and depth, with a varied lineup of sessions designed to address every facet of the vinyl industry. This is just a snapshot of the wide range of sessions and topics:

  • B2B Sensemaking: Facilitated, solution-focused dialogues that take a 360° look at the vinyl value chain – from sourcing raw materials and navigating production costs to establishing sustainable practices and circular models. These sessions aim to equip attendees with actionable insights for building more resilient and eco-aware operations.
  • Making Vinyl Lab & Specialized Panels: Intensive, hands-on workshops covering everything from mastering workflows, test-press protocols, and digital tooling to best practices in quality control and anti-counterfeiting strategies. Presenters include seasoned engineers, label innovators, and startup disruptors offering grounded, real-world knowledge.
  • Sustainability Track & Global Market Dialogue: A full-day Sustainability Summit anchoring the final day, featuring data-led presentations by scientists, packaging experts, and NGO voices on lifecycle analysis and environmental accountability. Complemented by panels exploring new market dynamics, emerging geographies, logistics innovation, and learning-based collaboration models for collective industry growth.

Speakers come from a rich mix of international backgrounds – global majors in pressing plant operations, high-end equipment manufacturers, indie labels, supply chain innovators, and creative disruptors. Whether representing multi-continent operations or small-scale artisanal ventures, all participants bring unique perspectives to the conversation, underlining that vinyl’s future is shaped equally by heritage and innovation.

Getting Ready
Preparations are well underway, with the U.S. team working closely alongside the European crew to bring the Haarlem edition to life. Europe’s core crew, together with newly added Program Assistant Manager Ruben Planting in the Amsterdam area, is finalizing sessions and content. At PHIL Haarlem, a dedicated in-house team is supporting the organizers in setting up the multiple halls that will host the sessions. The venue’s blend of historic concert hall atmosphere and modern flexibility makes it an apt backdrop for a conference that bridges analog heritage with forward-looking debate.

“After years of partnership, we’re thrilled to work again so closely with the dedicated Haarlem team in this inspiring venue,” says Kohl. Together, they’re shaping what promises to be an authentically collaborative and elevated industry gathering.

Tickets & Festival Connection
While early bird pricing has closed, regular tickets and VIP passes can still be purchased online – plus there are special discounts for attendees under 25.

Adding a further cultural dimension, the conference flows straight into the Haarlem Vinyl Festival, turning Haarlem into a week-long hub for vinyl – a synergy the Making Vinyl team is pleased to embrace.
