Last year The Audiophile Voice ran my investigative feature about how the resurgence of vinyl has been severely underreported by the mainstream media. The main point of this 4,000-word feature is that the numbers are off because the lion’s share of the 1,400 independent U.S. record stores and independent labels do not participate in the established reporting systems, such as Nielsen’s SoundScan.
