First Making Vinyl Packaging Award, then a Grammy for Weird Al

For the second consecutive year, the Recording Academy’s Grammy Awards judging committee honored the same package as Making Vinyl.

At the Grammy ceremony Feb. 10 in Los Angeles, Sony Music art directors Meghan Foley, Annie Stoll and Al Yankovic, won the “Best Recording Package – Boxed” category – for their work on Squeeze Box: The Complete Works Of “Weird Al” Yankovic.

This past October at the second annual Making Vinyl in Detroit, the collection, including14 LPs packaged in an accordion replica took the “And They Said It Couldn’t Be Done” prize.

A year ago the boxed set Grammy went to Voyager, as it did at the first Making Vinyl in November 2017.
